A subsidiary of Decas Cranberries and a partner in Europe have beaten the odds and won approval of “medical device” status for a cranberry-based treatment for urinary tract infections. Dan Souza, senior director of sales and marketing at Decas Botanical Synergies Inc., said the approval of “Cranberry-Active” came after more than seven years of clinical trials and $4 million in expenses.
