Pump Reversal Urges Devicemaker to Recall
Baxter issued a recall for its Baxter pump compatible blood set — lot no. 11L21V628. Reports indicate some devices have an incorrect orientation of the blue side clamps. If a blood set with an inverted blue side clamp is inserted, it is possible the machine will draw blood rather instead of infusing blood to the patient.
