The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved 30- and 45-mg strengths of oseltamivir phosphate capsules to facilitate influenza prophylaxis and treatment of pediatric patients; a 0.3 percent formulation of adapalene gel that has shown efficacy in the treatment of moderately severe acne vulgaris; and a sugar-free formulation of levocarnitine oral solution to treat primary and secondary carnitine deficiency in certain patients unable to take the original formulation.
