Lundbeck Moves Bipolar Drug Into Phase II

Based on results from preclinical and Phase I studies, Danish drugmaker Lundbeck will evaluate Lu AA34893 in a Phase II trial of patients with bipolar disorder.

The study will investigate the effects of the drug on the depressive episodes and its potential to prevent mania.

Anders Gersel Pedersen, Lundbeck’s senior vice president, said Lu AA34893 is the company’s first candidate to treat bipolar disorder.
