RxTrials Institute Drug Pipeline Alert

The FDA has granted orphan status for the use of Adherex Technologies’ADH-1 with melphalan for the treatment of Stage IIB/C, III and IV malignant melanoma. 

Adherex is conducting a Phase IIb expansion trial in melanoma using systemic ADH-1 in combination with regional melphalan.
 
The company said it is conducting a separate Phase I study of the drug in combination with chemotherapy in conjunction with the U.S. Oncology Research network.
