Lipitor Scripts Sink to 2002 Level as Other Statins Rise
Generic versions of Merck’s Zocor captured a 30 percent share of all prescriptions dispensed in the U.S. market for single-dose statins in 2007, while Pfizer’s market-leading statin Lipitor lost ground, with total scripts falling 12 percent to 65.1 million, its lowest level since 2002, according to data from IMS Health.
