Lexapro Litigation Settled With Brand Companies
Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, a subsidiary of India’s Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, has reached an agreement with Forest Laboratories and Lundbeck to settle patent litigation over a proposed generic Lexapro antidepressant. Forest and Lundbeck will give Caraco licenses to market its version of Lexapro (escitalopram oxalate) when other generic companies start doing so. Forest also will reimburse a portion of Caraco’s attorneys’ fees related to the litigation, according to a filing with the SEC posted July 16.
