Teva, J&J Unit Agree to Settle Contraceptive Patent Dispute
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson & Johnson (J&J) subsidiary, have settled a patent infringement lawsuit related to Teva’s generic version of the oral contraceptive Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. The agreement gives Teva a release for past sales of its generic version in exchange for an undisclosed royalty payment to Ortho-McNeil, the company says in a statement last month. Teva also will obtain a license to re-enter the market Dec. 31, 2015 — or sooner under certain circumstances.
