Legislators Call for Independence for FDA Drug Safety Reviewers
Members of Congress are calling on the FDA to strengthen the independence of its drug safety evaluators in the wake of a Senate Finance Committee staff report questioning the approval of GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) diabetes drug Avandia and an ongoing study comparing it with a generic drug.
