FDA, FCC Join Forces to Improve Regulation of mHealth Devices
The FDA is teaming with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to identify regulatory challenges posed by a new generation of mHealth devices — medical devices that rely on radio communications. Citing significant developments in technology and an increasing proliferation of mHealth devices, the agencies have scheduled a public meeting July 26 and 27 to discuss ways to enable the convergence of communications technology with medical systems.
