“The number of individual twitter handles sponsored by [pharma] companies continues to grow with the most recent census numbering 200 feeds put up by at least 44 companies,” blogger Mark Senak writes. While the numbers grow, the variety of conversations within the twittersphere is also expanding. Some companies have as many as 21 different feeds, industry twitterers are accessing specific niches to speak to specific audiences regarding geography; product recruitment; CSR and philanthropy; specific diseases; and promoting advocacy, Senak adds.
