Whistleblower Suit Alleges Genentech Sped Up Trials, Violated Laws at Patients’ Expense
A former Genentech employee is suing the drugmaker, alleging the Roche unit engaged in illegal and unethical conduct during a cancer drug development program, despite warnings by the then-employee to do otherwise. Juliet Kniley filed suit in the Superior Court of California, San Mateo County, last week seeking damages, including punitive damages, from the company for harassing, demoting and wrongly terminating her following her whistleblower allegations and refusal to support the unlawful research.
