Conor Medsystems, a developer of innovative controlled vascular drug delivery technologies, announced that the first patient has been enrolled in the company's COSTAR II U.S. pivotal clinical trial. BioMérieux announced it has secured a five-year contract with MDS Diagnostic Services, a provider of laboratory testing services in Canada, to supply its VITEK 2 automated bacteriology identification and susceptibility testing system to eight MDS laboratories in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada. HealthTronics has unveiled the UroVantage, a new intraoperative urological imaging system, at the American Urological Association meeting in San Antonio. Endocare, a medical device company focused on the development of minimally invasive technologies for tissue and tumor ablation along with vacuum technologies for erectile dysfunction, announced the introduction and launch of eight new products at the 2005 Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) held in San Antonio, Texas. Syneron Medical and its Chinese distributor, Miracle Laser, announced that the State Food & Drug Administration (SFDA) of the People's Republic of China has granted regulatory approval to sell Syneron's products in China. Smith & Nephew's Endoscopy division announced that the company has been awarded a sole-source three year contract from Kaiser Permanente as the developer and supplier of technologically-advanced digital operating rooms to their hospitals nationwide. BioRap Technologies announced that it has expanded its license and research agreement with HaptoGuard, an American biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of anti-inflammatory therapeutics for large, underserved populations. Nashua, N.H.-based iCAD, a maker of computer-aided detection (CAD) products for the early identification of cancer, has entered into a technology integration agreement with Mammography Reporting System of Seattle, Wash., linking the MRS Mammography Reporting System with iCAD's Second Look 300 and 700 CAD systems. The new Dale Stabilock Endotracheal Tube Holder provides a more secure method of stabilization giving clinicians a better way to prevent accidental extubation. |
