Industry Downplays Device Hacking Fears as GAO Mulls Investigation

Fears of hackers compromising implantable devices are unfounded, industry says. Companies united against claims that radio-frequency enabled devices are vulnerable to malicious attacks after Reps. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.) asked the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to investigate whether the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) effectively identifies risks for such devices.
