Medic Vision Imaging Solutions is partnering with Hisense Medical Equipment to integrate Medic’s SafeCT technology with Hisense products. SafeCT is a 3D image reconstruction system that enhances CT images obtained with low-dose protocols on conventional scanners.
The venture’s primary goal is the creation of a unified system that can reconstruct and display 3D models of organs for preoperative planning, assessment and simulation. The resulting products, they say, will enhance diagnostic performance and do so cost-effectively.
Eyal Aharon, CEO of Israel-based Medic Vision, says the partnership — which hopes to launch its first product in early 2015 — also will help that company diversify its portfolio and expand its global reach.
In addition to the partnership with Hisense, the SafeCT add-on also supports CT scanner systems from GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba, Medic Vision says. Hisense Medical is a division of Chinese flat-screen TV manufacturer Hisense. — Kellen Owings
