Stentys Wins CE Mark for Self-Apposing Coronary Stent
Stentys has gained CE Mark approval for its Xposition S self-apposing coronary stent, the French devicemaker announced last week. The company says the approval comes ahead of schedule and it plans to launch the device later this month.
The sirolimus-eluting stent is delivered by a process that mirrors conventional stent implantation, which requires less training, the devicemaker says. Using Cappellla Peel Away technology, the delivery system works by having a small balloon split open the sheath containing the stent, and then releasing it at the exact intended location.
