Agena Bioscience Introduces Chip Prep Module
Agena Bioscience has introduced the Chip prep module to automate sample handling after polymerase chain reaction for the MassARRAY 96-well System, enabling laboratories to operate the system largely unattended for high-throughput, multiplex genetic analysis.
Agena Bioscience CEO Peter Dansky says the module will reduce labor for laboratories and help researchers focus resources on the most impactful work.
It reduces hands-on time by automating several processing steps, including dispensing and desalting samples onto the SpectroCHIP Array, and loading the samples onto the MassARRAY Analyzer.
The module can process eight 96-pad SpectroCHIP Arrays in less than a day. It includes on-board cooling and storage which allows for overnight processing and storage of two additional SpectroCHIP Arrays, according to the company. — Michael Cipriano
