Thin Film Partners With Ypsomed to Improve Autoinjector Compliance
Thin Film Electronics has partnered with self-medication injections provider Ypsomed Group to incorporate Thin Film’s OpenSense technology in the YpsoMate autoinjector to improve patient compliance.
The YpsoMate autoinjector is a disposable two-step injection system that houses prefilled glass or polymer syringes. It is triggered by push-on-skin activation.
Patients use autoinjectors for the management of chronic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular indications.
With the OpenSense tags and a custom mobile app, patients can receive compliance assistance, such as adherence history, injection reminders, usage guidelines, refill instructions and authentication. Physicians also can track whether patients are adhering to self-medication requirements. — Michael Cipriano
