C.R. Bard Acquires Liberator Medical for $181M
Medical technologies company C. R. Bard has purchased Liberator Medical for roughly $181 million.
Liberator is a direct-to-consumer distributor of durable medical equipment, and Bard says the acquisition will enhance its position in the U.S. home care market.
Bard cites statistics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which estimates that national expenditures in the DME market will rise from $45.8 billion this year to $71.3 billion in 2023.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016. — Michael Cipriano
