QT Vascular has earned CE mark clearance to market its Chocolate Heart drug-coated percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty balloon.
The balloon is intended for dilatation of the stenotic portion of coronary arteries to improve myocardial perfusion.
Unlike traditional balloons, the device features a “nitinol-constraining structure” that inflates the balloon in a uniform fashion, thereby decreasing acute trauma, dissections, and unplanned stenting, according to the company. — Anisa Jibrell
