Industry Approves of PDUFA Proposals on FDA Hiring and Retention
August 19, 2016
Industry is praising the FDA for tackling both hiring and retention in its proposed goals for the next PDUFA, touting the proposals as necessary to support the agency’s initiatives.
Fundamental to the FDA’s goals is a commitment to hiring, the industry and patient advocacy groups said in a public meeting on FDA’s benchmark goals for the next five-year cycle of PDUFA.
“The hiring provisions are critically important,” said Sascha Haverfield, senior vice president of science and regulatory advocacy at PhRMA. A focus on hiring new talent allows the agency to keep pace with scientific advancements, he said.
