The House of Representatives is set to put a vote to the 21st Century Cures Act today.
This act is designed to speed up FDA approval of new devices; and provide a boost in funding for medical research.
A majority of the bill focuses on including provisions to establish an expedited review for breakthrough devices and accelerating reviews of drug-device combos.
If the legislation passes the House, the Senate would have to pass the bill before it adjourns Dec. 16. — Cynthia Jessup
