Feds to Look at Expansion of FDA Headquarters for More Workers
August 15, 2017
Federal officials will consider plan to take a look at the FDA headquarters in Silver Spring, Md., to see what’s needed to accommodate a planned growth in the agency’s work force over the next 15 years.
The General Services Administration intends to prepare an environmental impact statement for a headquarters master plan that would accommodate up to 18,000 workers by 2032.
The agency’s permanent work force as of 2015 was between 13,000 and 14,000, according to the non-profit Partnership for Public Service, citing numbers from the Office of Personnel Management.
