FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb announced that BlueCross BlueShield and United Health Group are now participating in the FDA’s Private Payor Program.
The two health care giants joined a growing list of private payors that will participate in medical device manufacturer pre-submission meetings.
The program gives manufacturers an opportunity to voluntarily receive agency and non-governmental health technology assessor/payor feedback during pre-submission meetings on developing more efficient evidence generation strategies.
