TGA Allows Electronic Submissions of Device Certificates
September 6, 2018
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration launched a new method for device sponsors to apply for export certificates export electronically.
The new procedure — which was put in place because sponsors experienced problems in getting sale and export certificates notarized and endorsed — streamlines the TGA’s process for issuing the certificates. Sponsors may now select electronic delivery of their certificates on the application form.
Applications must include, at a minimum, the ARTG number for the device type the sponsor wishes to export, as well as the global medical device nomenclature codes.
