Second Ex-GSK Scientist Pleads Guilty to Stealing Trade Secrets
September 18, 2018
A former GlaxoSmithKline scientist pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to steal trade secrets from the drugmaker to be marketed in China.
Tao Li used a company called Renopharma as a repository for stolen information, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. One of his co-conspirators, Yu Xue, pleaded guilty in August.
The documents Xue sent to Li and a third participant included information on multiple in-development biopharmaceutical products, research data and GSK processes on research, development and manufacturing. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 4.
