FDA Updates List of Drug Shortages
December 11, 2018
The FDA updated its database of drug shortages to include four products that are currently in short supply, as well as one product that was discontinued.
Sodium chloride 0.9 percent injection bags and sterile water for injection vials are in short supply due to manufacturing disruptions and an increase in demand. Suppliers are also short on Cefazolin injections and potassium chloride.
The agency also noted that two Emend (aprepitant) capsule products used as antiemetic agents have been discontinued.
