Hillrom Buys Up Breathe Technologies and Its Ventilation System
Hillrom has entered into a definitive agreement with Breathe Technologies, under which it will acquire the ventilation technology developer and its wearable ventilation system for $130 million.
The wearable device, the Life2000 Ventilation System, is a non-invasive mechanical ventilation system used for a broad range of conditions in home and critical-care settings, including COPD, interstitial lung disease, post-lung-transplant rehabilitation and restrictive thoracic disorder.
The ventilation system unlocks from a stationary compressor to allow patients free movement around their home. It can be used outside the home with an alternate pressure source.
