Hemovent Earns CE Mark for Heart and Lung Machine Controller
Hemovent has received the CE Mark for its Runner controller, a device designed to manage blood and gas flow through its Mobybox heart and lung machine.
The Mobybox is a miniature-sized device touted by the company as the first self-contained and fully integrated extracorporeal life support system (ECLS). It does not require a motor, power source or software.
Hemovent co-founder and CEO Christof Lenz said the Runner is designed to “slingshot clinicians into a new era of mobility and ease of use,” by bringing ECLS to patients rather than bringing patients to the ECLS.
