STERIS has received an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA for its AMSCO Medium- Steam Sterilizers for use in decontaminating N95 respirators.
The authorization is for use in respirators for single-user reuse by healthcare workers when there are inadequate supplies of face-filtering respirators, the agency said.
Currently, there are no FDA-approved devices for decontaminating N95 respirators.
