Medicines for Malaria Venture Releases Compound Collection to Support Research
To support development of potential COVID-19 treatments, Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) has launched a “COVID Box,” a collection of compounds expected or known to take action against the virus that may be used for research.
The nonprofit public-private partnership’s collection contains a set of 80 marketed drugs or compounds in development that are predicted or proven to show activity against SARS-CoV-2. The organization will send boxes to researchers at no charge, but request that recipients publish their findings to accelerate research for COVID-19 interventions.
MMV said it plans to add 80 more compounds to the box in the coming weeks.
