Inovio Pharmaceuticals has secured a $71 million contract from the Department of Defense to scale up production of a COVID-19 vaccine delivery device.
The Cellectra 3PSP is designed to deliver the company’s vaccine candidate, INO-4800, directly into the patient’s skin.
The funding supports Inovio’s large-scale production of the devices to deliver potentially hundreds of millions of doses of its vaccine next year, the company said.
