Moderna has entered into a $1.5 billion deal with the U.S. government to supply 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate mRNA-1273.
The deal prices a single dose at roughly $15, but the government plans to distribute the vaccine at no charge for a two-dose vaccination.
The contract from HHS and the Department of Defense includes an option to purchase an additional 400 million doses.
