FDA Clears Aerobiotix’s Mobile Air-Filtration Device
The FDA has granted Aerobiotix 510(k) marketing clearance for its Aerocure-MD medical air-purification system.
The device is now cleared in the U.S. to eliminate microorganisms in the air using ultraviolet (UV) radiation and to remove particles from the air via high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration.
The mobile air filter is designed for use in locations such as acute care areas, contaminated storage and handling areas, and in long-term healthcare facilities, the company said. It features a shielded UV system that prevents personnel and materials from being exposed to UV rays.
