Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has said it plans to send some COVID-19 vaccines purchased by the EU to the U.S. for the fill-and-finish stage of production, raising concerns in the 27-member bloc about potential delivery delays.
The company signed an advance purchase agreement with the EU in October for 200 million doses of its single-shot vaccine, with the option for an additional 200 million doses.
J&J said it still expects to meet its 2021 supply obligations, despite the need to ship doses to and from the U.S.
