GE Healthcare Sells Off Breast-Imaging System to SmartBreast

SmartBreast, a manufacturer of molecular breast-imaging scanners, has acquired GE Healthcare’s Discovery NM750b molecular breast-imaging platform.
The deal nets SmartBreast the scanner designs, manufacturing tools, instructions, patents and service business for the Discovery NM750b system, a gamma camera used for diagnostic imaging of the breast and other small body parts.
SmartBreast will produce, market and distribute the MBI scanner under a new name, EVE CLEAR SCAN e750. The financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
