Medford, Mass.-based Seventh Sense Biosystems has gained CE mark certification for its TAP II blood-collection device, a product designed to simplify the collection of blood samples.
Patients can operate the TAP II device by placing it on an upper arm and pushing a button on the device to start blood collection. Following the collection process, which takes two to three minutes, the device is sent to a lab for analysis.
The TAP II device can be used instead of traditional venipuncture and fingerstick-blood collection for a variety of applications both in professional and at-home settings, the company said.
