Santa Clara, Calif.-based Agilent Technologies has received a CE mark certification for its Agilent SARS-CoV-2 qRT-PCR Dx kit, clearing the test in Europe for detecting the virus.
The quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) test is used to detect RNA from the SARS-CoV-2 virus taken from nasopharyngeal swab specimens.
The kit, which uses a single tube, has been validated for use with an array of RNA extraction products and multiple RT-PCR systems, the company said.
