The FDA has revised Moderna’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to allow its COVID-19 vaccine to contain a maximum of 15 doses, up from the previous 10.
The agency also said that Moderna COVID-19 vaccine vials in their current form may contain 11 doses. The new 15-dose vials will be shipped in the coming weeks, according to the Cambridge, Mass., drugmaker.
In addition, the revised EUA allows the vials to be stored at room temperature for a total of 24 hours, up from the previous 12 hours, while a punctured vial is now approved to be unsealed for up to 12 hours, an increase from six hours.
