Siemens Healthineers has obtained CE mark certification for its Atellica VTLi Patient-Side Immunoassay Analyzer, a device that offers a point-of-care test that can aid in diagnosing heart attacks.
The eight-minute fingerstick test helps clinicians to quickly diagnose heart attacks by measuring levels of cardiac troponin, a group of proteins found in the heart muscles that are released following damage.
The company said that its analyzer offers the first high-sensitivity troponin I test that requires only a fingerstick-blood sample. The system has wireless capability that allows it to directly connect to data management systems.
