The FDA has granted Genesis Software Innovations 510(k) clearance for its PreView 3D shoulder arthroplasty planning software.
The tool allows orthopedic surgeons to develop preoperative shoulder plans based on computed tomography imaging studies. The software displays a representation of the patient’s shoulder anatomy as a 3D model, allowing surgeons to practice placing implants into the patient’s anatomy.
Using the software, surgeons can optimize implant size, location and orientation prior to the actual surgery, the company said.
