The FDA has approved the latest version of Angel Medical Systems’ AngelMed Guardian implantable cardiac monitoring device.
The device, which is implanted subcutaneously in an outpatient procedure, continuously records the heart's electrical activity, monitoring for electrical changes that can indicate an impending heart attack.
The new monitor features a long-life battery that could potentially double the device’s life, the company said.
