Teva Pharmaceuticals has recalled a single lot of its cancer chemotherapy drug topotecan in the U.S. after a glass particle was found inside a vial.
The tainted sample was also found to have a grey silicone particle and a translucent, colorless cotton fiber. Teva did not say how many doses were in the recalled lot.
The injectable drug is approved for treatment of certain patients with metastatic ovarian cancer, small-cell lung cancer and recurrent or persistent cervical cancer.
