Anthem, Humana Invest Nearly $140 Million in New Pharmacy Benefit Manager
Anthem and Humana are investing almost $140 million to develop a new pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) startup with software company SS&C Technologies that they say will offer more transparency in its transactions than existing PBMs.
The two health insurers will hold a minority stake in DomaniRx, while SS&C will own 80 percent of the cloud-based business.
The new platform will draw insights from hundreds of millions of claims transactions, providing advanced data analytics and increasing transparency, said Danny Delmastro, DomaniRx’s general manager.
