Womed’s first product, Womed Leaf, has earned CE mark certification for preventing intrauterine adhesion of fibrous tissue that can form in women undergoing surgical removal of uterine fibroids.
Womed Leaf is a mechanical barrier made of a soft film that protects the uterine cavity for a week and is discharged naturally afterward in a painless process.
The Montpellier, France-based company said the product was shown to be safe and effective for its intended use in trial results reported in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
