Roche has received CE marks for three of its molecular polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) diagnostic test panels that can simultaneously detect and differentiate between several common respiratory viruses.
One test detects influenza A, influenza B and respiratory syncytial virus, another identifies adenovirus, human metapneumovirus and enterovirus/rhinovirus, and the third detects parainfluenza 1, 2, 3 and 4. The respiratory test panels are designed for use with Roche’s high-volume cobas 6800/8800 systems.
The three tests can be run together or individually from a single nasopharyngeal swab specimen, the company said.
