Nevada to Join National Opioid Settlement
Nevada has agreed to join a proposed $26 billion national deal to settle opioid-related claims by state and local governments levied against three major U.S. distributors — Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen and McKesson — and drugmaker Johnson & Johnson (J&J).
Nevada’s Attorney General Aaron D. Ford announced that his state would receive nearly $231.7 million from the settlements over an 18-year period.
The deadline for states, cities and counties to join the proposed national deal has been extended to Jan. 26, while the distributors and J&J have until Feb. 25 to agree to move forward with the settlement proceedings.
