Smith+Nephew Gets Expanded Clearance for Its Cori Surgical System
London, UK-based Smith+Nephew's RI.HIP navigation software has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for use with the company’s Cori surgical implant system.
This is also an expanded indication for the system, a handheld robotic device that was previously cleared for use in total knee arthroplasty but can now be used for hip surgeries.
The software used along with Smith+Nephew implants significantly reduces the risk of further procedures and increases patient satisfaction, the company said.
