Medtronic Receives FDA Approval for its InterStim X Bladder and Bowel Control Device
Medtronic has received premarket approval from the FDA for its InterStim X sacral nerve stimulation device for bladder and bowel control.
The latest version of the company’s InterStim devices, the InterStim X features more than 10 years of battery life or up to 15 years with low-energy settings, the company said.
The system also includes a smartphone-like programmer that allows patients to choose from 11 therapy settings and to select a safety setting that allows for full-body MRI scans.
