Minute Molecular’s COVID-19 Test Gains FDA Emergency Use Authorization
Minute Molecular Diagnostics has received Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA for its rapid DASH SARS-CoV-2/S Test.
DASH, which stands for diagnostic analyzer for specific hybridization, is a polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) test that operates on a small instrument called the DASH Analyzer. The entire PCR testing process from sample extraction through analysis takes about 15 minutes to provide a result, according to the Evanston, Ill.-based company.
The DASH test “enables nonlaboratory personnel to insert a nasal swab specimen directly into our test cartridge and then load the cartridge into the DASH instrument,” said Sally McFall, the company’s co-founder and chief scientific officer.
